Make Memories with Homemade Modeling Clay!

Looking for a fun and simple toy? Here's an easy recipe you can make with your child for homemade shapeable putty that's kid safe and mom approved:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup salt

  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1.5 cups boiling water

  • food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar.

  2. Add the vegetable oil and mix until the flour mixture resembles coarse sand.

  3. Gradually add the boiling water while stirring the mixture with a spoon or spatula.

  4. Mix until a dough forms and let it cool for a few minutes.

  5. If you want colored playdough, add a few drops of food coloring and knead until the color is evenly distributed.

  6. Store the playdough in an airtight container when not in use.

Note: Adult supervision may be required for steps involving boiling water. Also, remind kids not to eat the putty since it's not meant for consumption.
